The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau will debut Earth & Arts OBX, an Earth Day celebration and ribbon cutting marking the official opening of the new soundside boardwalk in Nags Head, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 4 p.m. until sunset at the Soundside Event Site. All are welcome to celebrate Earth Day while experiencing the new Soundside Boardwalk for the first time. Festivities will begin at 4pm with a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by live music from Brooke & Nick and Hot Sauce, a curated marketplace featuring environmentally conscious artists and makers, hands-on kids’ activities, and opportunities to connect with local nonprofits focused on conservation and sustainability.
